DAY 5:

Dear B. family,

You have brought a lot of Christmas cheer to those around you by sharing a treat with them.   Good job.   Emperor moms spend a lot of their time and energy getting food for their little ones.   Your mom spends a lot of time and energy getting food and preparing it for you.   Show her that you appreciate it by giving her the night off.   Please plan, prepare, and clean up dinner tonight.   Report back when finished.

(When the kids read this one, I did a little victory dance in the kitchen for them that went a little something like this: Uh-huh, uh-huh, uh-huh.   Oh, yeah.   Oh, yeah, UH-HUH!   It was awesome.   Just ask them.)

Dear Penguin Squad,

Tonight the kids made grilled cheese and tomato soup for dinner. They helped their dad grate cheese, butter the bread, grill the sandwiches, make the soup, set the table, and clean up afterward. It gave me such a great break! I was so excited, I did a victory dance! Please email back when you can.
