Christmas Day 2011

With Christmas on a Sunday this year, and church at 9 a.m., Zach thought it would be a good idea to let the kids get up extra early and open all their gifts before the sun came up.  I disagreed.  And after after staying up pretty late on Christmas Eve, even Zach was grateful we'd told the kids that they could get up at 7 and open their stockings and sibling gifts before church, and wait for the rest of the gift opening till after we got back home.

It was awesome to have church on Christmas morning.  Lots of singing and a great spirit in the meeting, which makes for quiet-ish kids.  Lovely.

Eli opening the little photo album of family pictures that Adam made for him:  (The rest of the morning was videoed and I have no program to watch the videos on this computer.  So whenever I try to load a video, it's as much a mystery to me as it is to you what it will end up being.)

After church, waiting to go down the stairs into the family room:
 And again:
In front of the Christmas tree:
Trying to get everyone to look at me:
Last try.  Notice Kye's desperate attempt to keep his eyes focused on me so we could move on to the gift opening.

Some pictures after the fray:  All in all, a very wonderful Christmas morning.
