I love this kid. He definitely gives me a run for my money. Visiting teaching with him this morning was pure torture for both of us. The visiting teachee had a cat. The said cat left the room in terror of this deceivingly cheerful little kid:
And as the rest of the house wasn't baby proofed, I couldn't let him down to run after said cat. There was some screaming and a lot of tears involved. I calmed down eventually though . . . Just kidding. Eli just likes being busy. And torturing cats. I'll have to watch out for that tendency in the future. He also likes climbing in things:
And on things. . .
And every once in awhile he'll sit still and let you hold him for 2 seconds. But usually only when he's watching Elmo or my SIL's video of our trip to SD, like here . . .
Last week he fell asleep in the car and I brought him into his bedroom. He had his head on my shoulder and I relished the moment. I don't think he's consciously cuddled since he was 6 months old.
He is starting to talk and his favorite words are:
- unk (milk)
- Ehmo (Elmo)
- pembo (temple)
- Jeje (Jesus
- MOM! MOM! (always shouted)
- DAD! DAD! (ditto)
- eese (ears, usually said while grabbing Zach's ears)
- seewo (cereal)
- Sissy (Lucy, Kye, Isaac, or Adam)
According to current interests, his future career will be in rock climbing. Or in taste testing (one bite, and then spit the rest out). Or perhaps running marathons. We shall see. We shall see.
