Californee-i-ay: Day 2 and 3

At the beach alone.  Alone, alone.  All the cousins went to Disneyland for the day.  (I wasn't about to go with 5 chillens, sans Zach.  And, do you know what?  The kids didn't mind.  Really.)  The beach was deserted, and the kids had a blast.  Until the wind picked up and the rain started.

 Playing in the waves:
Except this kid.  He doesn't do water.  Unless it's a bath.
But Adam had a shovel and a badminton racket.  Could life get better for a 4 year old?  I contend that it could not.
Lu, having the time of her life.
 Frozen "I"cycle:
I should never have told him what Calvin does in pictures.
Because I get a whole lot of this:
 Beautiful Newport Beach:
Lucy and Adam on the boat to Balboa Island:
 Boys on the boat:
 Balboa:
 Isaac, Kye, Eli, Lucy, Adam:
 Eating frozen bananas:
Kailyn took some pictures on the beach of the family.  Thanks, Kailyn!
 Eli:
 Family:
 At the Newport Beach temple:
Zeeky:
 Kooski:
 Ludy-lu:
Goofy Adam:
We had so much fun in California.  The deserted beach was probably my very favorite thing.  I love to read a good book listening to the waves crash.  Which is pretty much impossible to do with a 10 month old in tow.  But I can dream for the future.

I heart chilly, deserted beaches. Really missed seeing you this trip. If only I could have skipped work and joined you with a good book (I'm reading Paris Wife, you should check it out). I really, really love the family pic on the beach. 2012 holiday card?

Honestly, the beach is usually more fun than Disneyland anyway. At least there are no lines.
