On Sunday morning, we overwhelmed a poor little ward in Prescott Valley, AZ, by adding 30 some-odd people to their sacrament meeting. Zach went to let the bishop of the ward know so that they could prepare a little--that seemed to help. I'm sure the meeting was wonderful. I wouldn't really know since I was out in the hall with Adam the entire time. (I would have thought this phenomenon would happen less often as he got older. False.)
After church, we went back to the Green's house and ate a delish lunch of chili and cornbread and then worked on our "40th Wedding Anniversary Celebration Skit" for Mom and Dad B. It was a delightful combination of wit, drama, and tenderness. I should know. I wrote it. Just kidding. Not that I wrote it. I did write it. Just kidding about the witty, dramatic tenderness thing. (But it really was.)
Anyway, we got the kids to act it out and if I had 3 wishes granted to me in my life, one would be to have pictures of my older niece and nephews dressed up in their 70's, 80's, 90's and 00's garb. (Dear SILs who might read this: you have the opportunity to grant me this wish. I know at least one of you took pictures of the show. If you send me pictures, I'll love you forever. Thanks so much.)
After the show, we had Mom and Dad B. (otherwise known as Gma and Gpa D) line up the kids according to age and birthdate. That went well . . . sort of.
After dinner, we headed over to the church parking lot to watch 4th of July fireworks. There were no lines, traffic, or crowds. Niiiiiiiice.
We had such a wonderful time at the Bradshaw Family Vacaynion that we decided to extend it a few days by going to the cabin in Forest Lakes, AZ with the Nelsons, Greens, and (some of the) Leavitts. Cabin time is one of my very favorite times because the kids have so much fun collecting rocks, taking rides on the tire swing, not doing the fun craft I had planned b/c I forgot again, and playing games together. And my very favorite part? That we put the kids up in the loft every night at about 8 p.m. to watch a movie and fall asleep while we get to play games and eat junk food at the table. One of the true joys in life. Really.
Thanks, Bradshaw fam. Thanks Luanne for planning it! We love you all and look forward to our family vacaynion in 2012.
