Lucy had a concert at MMHS this week. It was a hodge-podge of local choirs: a few elementaries, a junior high, a high school, and a community chorale all singing together. Each school performed impressive classics, like centuries-old folk songs, some swinging spirituals, stuff written by Haydn, and the obligatory adaptation by John Rutter. Except our school. Our elementary school sang "Bad Day" and "We Will Rock You" complete with stomping feet, clapping hands and other motions. It actually added some variety in there quite nicely. If they had only used a minus track . . .
In other news, some kids have learned some things around here.
This one
He came, he rode, he conquered.(To clear up any confusion, this is not the exact model he used.)
And this one
(This is the exact model he used.)
His biggest challenge seems to be recognizing the difference between feeling like he has to go and actually having to go. I used a different method to train this time and it was a hit for both of us. I didn't feel like I needed to bang my head against the wall more than once or twice. And that, my friends, is unqualified success.
