Sadly, after almost 3 years with us, Goldie bit the dust. Lucy was so upset she ran and hid in the closet to gather strength and comfort. Two minutes in, she got distracted by a book and apparantly made record time going through the grief process. Nonetheless, she refused to attend the official flushing because it was just too sad. Zach, Kye and I attended. Kye thought it was a little gross but couldn't take his eyes away. I washed out the bowl in a flash and put it out in the D.I. pile. I may or may not be thrilled with the extra counter space. But that's just between you and me.
p.s. Aren't fish supposed to float when they kick the bucket?

1. I love that you took a picture of your dead fish.
2. How long do goldfish usually live?? (you know, in the wild...) Because 3 yrs sounds like some kind of record for me.
3. Glad Lucy was able to get over the loss quickly.
4. Did Kye feel like it was one of those, "So disturbing, I can't look away" moments?
5. Back to the marker post. Maja informed me that the hole in her leggings that she had colored in was her third eye...hmmm
6. No more goldfish EVER?? Who will I talk to when I come visit?!
The picture of Goldie makes me want to puke! The glassy eyed fish was a little too much for my tummy to handle! Ryan just asked if he could come over to see how Goldie was holding up. I told him that Goldie is dead and that's how she's doing. Dead. Sad moment.
I can't believe she actually died, what are we going to do with that??? LOL. I still think she should be recorded in the guiness book of world records!
HAHAHA!!! you always make me laugh. we got the kids hermit crabs and i keep saying " I think it might be dead" and then they move. I like to think I am preparing them for when they are really dad. :)
Poor Goldie! Such a long, swimmingly good life for a goldfish. I bet Lucy was very sad, good thing she likes to read, she might have mourned longer if that wasn't the case.
