L.A. for Labor Day

We planned a girls' trip once upon a time, my sisters-in-law and mom-in-law and I. We were to go to New York for food, theater, shopping and sight seeing. We had tickets bought (both air and theater), we had places to stay, we had the Statue of Liberty and The Lion King and the Met in our sights. We were to leave 9-20-01. Yeah--didn't work out so well. In fact, we never even attempted another trip . . . until now. This time we chose L.A. and the wildfires, though they pretty far away. And it was supah fun.

What I will remember: "Turn left now. I have your children. Duck." Labor Day weekend traffic. Laughing. Movies. Pedicures? Traffic. More laughing. 5 minutes on the beach at Santa Monica. Church in Rancho Cuca and Lindsey's testimony. "Which left, Alisa?" Following GPS lady for 15 minutes to a store across the parking lot. Trying to buy a map and not succeeding. Lunch at the Cheesecake Factory. Getting ready. Reading. Traffic. Monster truck. Redlands Temple. Sunday dinner at the Barlows--thanks! Walking. Talking. Laughing. Feeling comfortable. Feeling rested. Feeling rejuvenated.

p.s. I'm the one with the awesome flip flop tan.
