The First Official Top Ten Blog

As per the advice of a very wise sister-in-law, I'm converting our monthly Top Ten to a blog. No need for more introduction.

Bradshaw Top Ten
(the top ten things seen, heard or done at the Bradshaws--April 2007)
10. Kye’s 4 p.m. birthday party combined with a complete lack of desire to cook=cake and ice cream for dinner. Not my best effort, but the kids sure enjoyed it. (On a side note, Kye asked, “Mom, can we PLEASE invite daddy to my birthday party?” Zach was in Korea and unfortunately couldn’t make it.=)

9. Things I have craved and/or been seen to eat this month: gummi worms, fettucine, craisins, bologna and pickle sandwiches, cheetos and yogurt, string cheese, tacos, crackers dipped in applesauce, whole cucumbers & watermelon. Not a bad list, it’s just the combinations that were a little odd.

8. Kye getting a popcorn kernel stuck up his nose. He’s never been able to get the concept of blowing his nose, and another hour of personal coaching certainly didn’t do the trick. I finally set up a dr’s appt, but got to cancel it when the kernel fell out on it’s own after 2 hours.

7. M: Isaac, how old are you?
I: I’n free . . . (thinking) . . . no, I’n two.
M: Good job! What’s your name?
I: I’n Zach. My name is Zach.
M: Your name isn’t Zach, it’s Isaac.
I: Ummmmmm, no, it’s Zach.

6. Framing the basement. Lucy loved it. BAM, BAM, BAM went the hammers. “It sounds like there are fairies in here working, mom!” went Lucy. BAM BAM BAM. 6-foot-200+ lb. fairies, I guess.

5. Kye climbing on my back during family prayer and whacking away. M: Kye, WHAT are you doing?!?! K: I’m trying to push the baby girl out. Me: It’s a girl? K: Yes, her name is Katie, like the dog (that came to visit during the basement framing), and like that one girl who has Maddie—you know the one who comes to South Dakota.

4. Chopping my hair off and Lucy saying, “Oh mom, you look so beautiful!” Much better than some comments I’ve gotten in the past . . . like, “How old is your grandbaby?”—when I was 20, no less!

3. Isaac permanently attaching himself to Zach’s leg when he’s home. He went to Korea, AZ, and Mexico in a few week’s time, and spent his time at home framing the basement (with help . . . THANKS!), working on the wiring (with help . . . THANKS!), fixing our neighbor’s sprinklers, taking care of our lawn, and spending time with the kids.

2. Kye: “Mom, are these Sunmaid raisins? Here’s what you need to make Sunmaid raisins—grapes and sunshine. I seen it on TV, that’s why.”

1. Our first official grade school end-of-the-year program. Lucy was a crocodile. She was almost a head shorter than the rest of her class, but man, she can belt it out. We could hear her sing every song. It was great!

This blog thing is great. You can tell Kye that his grandma Dana got a ring stuck in her nose in the 3rd grade. We did go to the Dr. The more I cried the farther up it went. Lovely!!! Lucy is adorable and the boys are great. When are we or ===are we going to find out if it's a girl?

Love it! About time another sister started to blog...and I agree Katie is a GREAT name. I try to convince everyone I know to name their girls Katie or Kate (at least the middle name:)
