Lucy had the awesome opportunity to go to the Provo Temple on her 12th birthday. Yet another amazing blessing in living so close to a temple. Her friend Ashley (who turned 12 last month) came with us.
It was a pretty busy day at the temple, and the baptistry was filled with college-aged students. Lucy (though she didn't notice) got so many, "Oh-my-goodness! Look-at-that-cute-little-girl! Are-they-really-letting-kids-that-young-in-here? looks. It was delightful. It was a great experience for all involved.
And when we got home, she was surprised with a kitchen decorated for her birthday (complements of her Aunt Camille), and she was so excited. She had a low-key party with her church friends that night . . . ice cream sundaes and games.
On Saturday night, she had a party with her school friends. We had movie-style hot dogs and chips for dinner while we watched The Princess Bride. Afterwards, we had a trivia game about the movie, and ate Lucy's birthday treat--mini cheesecake tarts. Um, yummmmm. They were good.
Lucy and her school friends, being all crazy-like:
And my favorite picture from the evening:
Happy 12th, Lucy!
