Being the Mother

Approximately 7.5% of the time, being a mother is like this:

(Kids sitting quietly, 60% of them smiling, no one is moving, and there is peace):
 (40% of the children are being helpful and entertaining 20% [aka the baby], and there is peace):
 (80% are paying attention and the other 20% is smiling, but just can't quite focus, and there is peace):
The other 92.5% of motherhood is a little like this:

And as I know you are all wondering where Z was, I will tell you.  He was at work, less than 2 minutes away.  We were taking a few pics and I thought I'd have a few of us done for his Father's Day gift.  Shhhh.  Don't tell him.  However, I am now seriously kicking myself for not having him come down so we could get a few family pictures done while my amazing friend Jacki had the camera in her hands.  What was I THINKING?  Being attacked by 5 kiddos doesn't leave much time for using my brain, I guess:-)
