Zach and I had a little disagreement last night.
Nothing too big, it wasn't a fight.
I wanted to go to see lights on Temple Square,
To take the kids on Trax all the way there .
He said, "No thanks! It'll take too long.
It'll be cold and crowded, a huge, pushy throng."
I scoffed and pleaded that it would be all right.
And then I begged him to come along for the night.
He finally agreed, although he said,
"We won't get home till 11, past time for bed."
"Eleven!?!" I laughed. "How can that be?
We'll go up, see the lights, and come home in a jiffy."
I thought we would be home by quarter after seven.
There was no way that we would be out til eleven.
We went, we rode Trax, we saw lights, and we froze.
Our fingers were frosty, and so were our toes.
We made it back to the car, though a little late.
I thought for sure we'd be home by eight.
And then as we went around the point of the mountain,
The van lost all power and we started countin'.
60 mph, then 50 and 30 and 20.
It wasn't the gas. We knew we had plenty.
We thought perhaps we could make it home without towing.
We thought wrong, and pulled off with our hazards glowing.
We made calls to insurance and family dear,
Who rushed to our aid with a tow truck and gear.
They brought us and the van where we needed to be.
But the clock was ticking oh so silently.
When finally we came through the garage door,
The kids were quietly sleeping, not even a snore.
We threw them in bed and told them, "Love you! Sleep tight."
Then I looked at the clock and thought, "Oh crap! Zach was right!"

I Love that! Call us when you're in town. We'll be here.
I am laughing my butt off right now. Sarah oh Sarah don't you know us Bradshaws are always right?? Have you met our Dad? haha. What happened to the van? Are you still coming? You better be.
Lindsey
Love this post, except for the part where your van died, or the part where Zach was right.
